For the file server, an account with read access is enough, and a Microsoft 365 administrator approves the rest.

For the file server, an account with read access to the folders you want is enough. SharePoint, OneDrive and Exchange are approved by a Microsoft 365 administrator.

Which permissions does the service account need?
Only read access to the folders, sites or mailboxes you connect. Write and delete permissions are not used.
How up to date are the answers?
As up to date as the last sync, which runs regularly for every source.
What about Jira, Slack or our ERP?
These systems are not read in. Agents query them when needed through vetted MCP tools.
What happens if we remove a source?
Its sections disappear from the index. Nothing changes in the source itself.
